What we store on your device and why

Insured Guard uses browser storage to keep you signed in and to make the app easier to use. There is no third-party tracking, advertising or analytics here, and browser data is never shared with anyone. You can change your choice at any time on your Account page.

Essential, always on

These keep the app working and cannot be turned off. Without them you cannot stay signed in.

Session tokens: the access and refresh tokens that authenticate every request.
Cached profile: your name, email and role, read once at startup so pages can draw without a round trip.
Your cookie choice: this record itself, so you are not asked on every visit.
Active tab: a random number that stops two open tabs from saving at the same time.
Visit id: a random number that groups one visit's pages for our support team. It says nothing about you.
Remembered device: for our team's accounts only, so a trusted browser is not asked for a code every time.
Work in progress: short notes about something you just started, such as documents being sent, so the page can finish it.

Functional, optional

These remember small conveniences. The app works without them; you only lose the memory between visits.

Theme: light or dark.
Selected insurance: the plan and period the app was showing when you left.
Page filters: the person, period, network and view you had chosen.
Where you were: the page to reopen when you come back.
Things you dismissed: getting-started cards, the survey banner, and which notes Vera already gave you.

What we don't use

No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no advertising identifiers, no session replay, no third-party embeds that set their own cookies. Health data is never kept in the browser. It lives only on our encrypted servers.

Changing your mind

Use the Functional switch on your Account page at any time. Turning it off removes anything already saved; while it is off, these conveniences last only until you close the page.
